DC Water Headquarters

Washington, DC

Client: Architect: Smith Group Design/Build Contractor: Skanska USA Building Inc.

Completion Date: 2020

DC Water Headquarters serves as the sewer and water utility for District of Columbia and several suburban jurisdictions. The new six-story, 150,000 square foot building with energy and water saving features reflects its motto: “Water is life.” With administrative offices previously stretched out in different locations, the new building now houses headquarters and administrative office in one location. The elegantly sculpted, almost-iridescent DC Water Headquarters building is seeking LEED Platinum certification.

Polysonics provided extensive conference room and multipurpose room audiovisual design. The Polysonics team also reviewed the acoustical design and analyze testing results to determine if the existing systems could be brought up to compliance. Working closely with DC Water and the design team, Polysonics combined the needs, desires and budget into an expansive audiovisual system. Polysonics also worked with the owner and design build team to meet and exceed strict acoustic and noise control standards. In addition Polysonics provided onside acceptance testing and field verification of the noise and acoustics standards within the building.
