Opening in the fall of 2015, Brookland Middle School will serve 540 students as a LEED Gold Certified Integrated Arts Facility. Drawing primarily from Ward 5 elementary schools, Brookland will be home to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students with connections to Turkey Thicket Park and its amenities. While following a traditional core curriculum, the new three story, 110,000 square foot school will feature an enhanced performing arts and fine arts curriculum.

Polysonics provided interior acoustical design for mechanical equipment isolation, HVAC and mechanical noise control, air handling and corridor air supply units noise control for classrooms, cafeteria and music rooms as well as cooling tower, emergency generator, booster pumps and elevator noise control. Building wide audiovisual systems design included core learning spaces, common areas and performance spaces to include video projection, speech reinforcement, performance audio, BGM and paging, and video display systems. Communications systems included media center design, voice and data infrastructure, WAN/LAN and WiFi networks, and public address. Video surveillance, access control and intrusion detection and alarm systems were also designed.
